El-P - one third of NY hip hop heavyweights Company Flow - will make his Big Dada debut in 1999. The producerlyricist behind such gems as "8 Steps To Perfection" has contributed a remix to Roots Manuva's first single for Big Dada. Entitled the "Madness, Microchips & Hi-Tech War Mix," El-P takes the original "Juggle Tings Proper" and reshapes it around crazed strings and cuts from Ted Striker.
El-P has been a vocal advocate of talented rhymers and producers in Britain since his visit here in November '97 (when he played at the Jazz Cafe alongside Big Dada stalwarts New Flesh For Old and Juice Aleem) and was particularly taken by Roots' unique style. Roots Manuva returned the admiration, insisting on revocalling El-P's remix simply because he was desperate to rhyme over the beat.
The results of this unique collaboration can be heard from February 22nd 1999 on vinyl or CD single. So nasty it hurts.
