Piles of newfangled noise blows out these doors this approaching autumn, and here's a little taste:
SIXTOO "Jackals and Vipers In Envy of Man" - The next volume in Six's ongoing multi-platformed dirge, a deeper delve into the minimal dark, pulling up hooks and memories with subtlety and aplomb. Heed, too, his hotter side with upcoming Megasoid jams, and burnt bridgesshhhhh. 9/4 in Canada, 9/11 in US.
GHISLAIN POIRIER "No Ground Under" - Sixtoo accomplice and Montreal mainstay bounces into the picture with his debut on NJT: deep, bulbous instrumental assaults and toasty ragga-inflected jams. Canada only 10/16, US in '08.
THE DRAGONS "B.F.I."" - Longlost newfound psych-surf classic discovery from the 60s. Must be heard, stands for "Blue Force Intelligence", fchrissakes. Out 9/25!
BLOCKHEAD "Uncle Tony's Coloring Book" - Funkle Tony fills in the lines with some upbeat uptempo melancholy with this limited edition tour CD. See him out there with AESOP. Out 8/28.
WILEY "Playtime is Over"" - Playtime never really ends. It just sometimes becomes more suitable for adults. Look out for the Big Dada Soundsystem tour in late fall. 8/28 Canada, 9/11 US.
DAEDELUS "Fair Weather Friends" - An EP of five stunning pieces that'll drop your heart right down to your knees. Out in October.
