Taken from their new album “New Me, Same Us”—’Water’ encapsulates that feeling of returning home after a long journey, “like a drop finally reaching the ocean” as Little Dragon put it themselves. Long-time fan of the band, French producer FKJ—who has previously worked with artists including Jordan Rakei, Masego and Tom Misch—builds on the submerged vibe of the original, adding a sense of urgency to the laid-back groove with a deep bassline and skittering percussion framing Yukimi’s distinctive vocals.

Released earlier this year on Ninja Tune—to widespread acclaim from the likes of the New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mixmag, Crack Magazine and many more—and entirely self-produced and recorded at the pioneering Swedish band’s studio, “New Me, Same Us” is the sound of a band going back to basics and falling back in love with their instruments: drums, bass, keyboards, harp, guitar and voice, to produce some of their most focused and best music to date.

The band’s hugely popular and highly regarded live performances have spawned a decade-spanning touring career, including festival highlights such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Bestival, Sonar, All Points East, Dimensions Festival, Parklife, Lovebox, Love Saves The Day, Melt and Dour; co-headlining the Hollywood Bowl and Berkeley’s Greek Theatre with Flying Lotus supported by BADBADNOTGOOD and sold out two nights at London’s Roundhouse.

While the global pandemic has put touring on hold, the band joined NPR Music for an intimate Tiny Desk (Home) Concert filmed at their long-term home-built studio in Gothenburg, Sweden. They also recently released a new video for “Where You Belong”, an ode to their live performances and the energy of their shows, it comprises over 10 years worth of never before seen footage taken on the road, cut with a new live performance shot remotely in the band’s Gothenburg studios.
